Mondays can seem horrible..so I am hoping to make them a little bit brighter by posting a new DIY project every week. Sometimes it will be one we have done, and sometimes I'll repost others. Happy Monday :)
A few years ago Randy's parents told us they had picked up some retro dinette set chairs from the side of the road with us in mind. So Randy and I brought them home, and decided that we (I mean Randy) would rehab them. It was super simple and cost us a heaping $10. Best. Project.Ever. Randy and I went to a local fabric store and picked up some red marine vinyl for the seats and backs of the chairs. We got a can of semi-gloss white spray paint, and some rubber caps for the bottom of the legs. It was as simple as pulling up the old yellow vinyl and re stapling the red we had bought. Randy then spray painted the underside of the bottom, and the outside of the backs white. After that the pieces were reassembled and, ta da, new chairs for our tiny little kitchen!

We left the original manufacturer's sticker on. They are Arvin |
We did a bit of digging and found out that the chairs were made and sold in the 1940s. The only sort of value we found on them was an entire set (4 chairs+table) for $650.00 Our guess is our chairs are worthless, but we would still love to find two more and the matching table. I found the image below online, it is of an original set, in red.
